Always at Work

But Jesus replied, ‘My Father is always working, and so am I.  (John 5:17 NLT)

Everything you will need in life is already provided for you. Your Heavenly Father knows what you need to get through each day. When you pray to God with your needs, you are releasing your faith for Him to start working on your behalf. Jesus says that because His Father is always working, then He, too, is always working also. When you pray for something and it comes to pass, that wasn’t God working right then. He was working from the beginning and you are seeing the results of His work when the prayer is finally answered. When “you” try to make things work, you put a halt on God’s progress. Once you’ve prayed, you’ve sent your request to God and He begins to work immediately. Even when the devil tries to make you believe that God isn’t working, open your mouth and say,”I believe that God is working on my situation right now.” I  love the saying “When you see the least and you feel the least, that’s when God is often doing the most.” The best part about praying is that once you’ve prayed, you can let go of your care and enjoy your life while God works on it.

Philippians 4:6 says that we are not to worry about anything, but to make our requests known to God and give Him thanks. You need to know that God is never lax in his work nor does He sleep (see Psalms 121:4). He is busy taking care of His children and that is an ongoing task. God can take care of your needs much quicker than you ever could. He is going before you making crooked ways straight (see Isaiah 45:2) and opening doors of opportunity for you. Things that you haven’t even prayed for yet, He’s working on. While you are sleeping, God is working. He will not rest until His children are blessed and provided for. Take ahold of the fact that once you told God what you wanted, if it is in His will, you will get it in His timing, and His timing is always right. Every need is already provided for and all you have to do is receive it by faith. I absolutely love Isaiah 65:24 (NLT) because it just shows how great God is, “I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers! Give God praise!
