The Doors of Favor

Door

I will give him the key to the house of David—the highest position in the royal court. When he opens doors, no one will be able to close them; when he closes doors, no one will be able to open them.

Isaiah 22:22 NLT

When God sets anything in motion, nothing can stop it from coming to fruition. Isaiah 22:22 says that when God opens a door, no one can shut it, and when he shuts a door, no one will be able to open it again. The same sentiment is found in Revelation 3:7 as well. If anything in the Bible repeats itself, God is trying to make an important point. It may seem like God isn’t working, or obstacles are in place to stop what He has started, but this is where you have to walk by faith and not by sight. The God we serve is in the business of making things happen “suddenly,” “immediately,” and “instantly.” God can do more for you in one millisecond than you could ever do for yourself “trying” to make something happen by your own effort.

You need to understand that God has a plan for your life, and it’s a prosperous and joyous one. Once He has proclaimed His Word to you, nothing can ultimately stop it from happening. Will there be setbacks…yes, but a temporary setback is paving the way for a permanent set up. There is no human being on earth or devil in hell that can stop God’s plans for you, regardless of what it may “look” like.

Everywhere that you go, God was there before you even arrived (see Deuteronomy 31:8; Isaiah 45:2). He is busy setting up divine appointments, giving you favor, and opening up doors that only He can open. What seems impossible, He is making possible. God will always take care of His children, so it’s time to let Him have His way. Give Him praise in advance for the doors that He closes that we’re too scared to close, and for the doors that He opens that we don’t have the power to open by ourselves. Thankfulness is a prerequisite for more open doors and allows God to begin to work in your life. There’s a saying, “Until God opens the next door, praise Him in the hallway,” and I love that because that means you are waiting expectantly for God to move. Just know that what He starts, He will finish, and whatever opportunities He has for you, no one can take them away because God’s favor is unstoppable.
