Then the LORD answered me, “Write the vision. Make it clear on tablets so that anyone can read it quickly.
Habakkuk 2:2 GW
How many times do you plan to do something and then get sidetracked by life, procrastination, work, kids, other tasks, etc. In reality, no one plans to start something never intending to finish it—that would just be a waste of time and energy. God said to write the vision down and make it plain so anyone can see it—namely you. When something is in front of you, it’s quite hard not to work towards it because it just stares at you day after day, and it will continue to do so until you make steps towards completing that goal or task. Having it in plain view helps to remind you every day that there is always something to do.
Rate your tasks in order of importance and ask for God’s strength to help you complete them. God doesn’t want you burnt out, so submit yourself and your plans to Him and let Him guide you. He will give you the grace to do what needs to be done, especially if it is for His glory.
Everyone wants to feel accomplished and what better way to get that feeling than completing a task on your to-do list.
Action Step: Whatever your tasks are, put them on post it notes and place them everywhere you encounter. Put reminders in your phone, calendars, etc. Set deadlines and make an effort to do something towards that task every day.
Put God in charge of your work, then what you’ve planned will take place. Proverbs 16:3 MSG
