Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what he did for me.
Psalms 66:16 NLT
We live in a world full of pain, sorrow, disappointment, and blame. God is getting blamed for everything that is wrong in the world, and it’s time for His children to rise and defend His honor. God is doing so much good in the world and in the lives of His children, but it gets overshadowed by negativity. Christians need to be shouting from the rooftops about how good God has been to them. How will people know if we don’t tell them? A person can always argue what they see, but they can’t argue your testimony. People are so carnal now that for some, in order for them to believe, they need to see the miraculous. We can be so quick to open our mouths to gossip or to complain, but when it comes to bragging about God, all of a sudden, we fall mute. What sense does that make?!? Use your mouth to glorify God!
There are many scriptures in the Bible that emphasize telling about God’s goodness for generations. Think about it…you probably know what you know about God because someone told you. It is your responsibility to carry on God’s tradition. Not only is sharing how good God is beneficial for the non-believer, it is also good for you. When you tell people what God has done for your life, it activates your joy, re-energizes your faith, and your hope and confidence rise. How can you be sad, mad, and depressed when you think about and speak about how good God has been to you? Even if you don’t win over the unbeliever with your testimony, still tell it because of what it will do for you. And to top it off, it pleases God.
I don’t know anyone who doesn’t want to hear good news, so why not share the Good News about Jesus Christ! We have been commissioned to tell of His great works—it is your duty. Even though people may not show it, they will be encouraged by your testimony, and if they hear enough of them, they may want to try God out for themselves. Plant the seed and let God do the rest. I know that God has been good to you and you know He’s been good to you too, so go tell about it!
